Tin for tinning car bodies
Opis
In this section you will find the answer to the question: how to protect the car body against corrosion for many years, 100%, even if it were to undergo mechanical deformation.
Sb-Pb alloys are popular due to their anti-corrosion properties, specifically they protect steel sheets against acids and moisture.

The effectiveness of lead/tin plating is confirmed by the fact that this bodywork technique has maintained its reputation from the beginning of the automotive industry to this day. It is trusted even by classic car restorers, who value the uniqueness of the models they entrust and own. The prevailing opinion in this community is that once a component is repaired, it will last a lifetime. Simply put, it will outlive its owner.
Why?
Tin-plating the inserted element provides 100% guaranteed protection for many years. Tin and lead alloys are malleable, deformable, and resistant to cracking.
JS-METALS bodywork tinning tin is modified to eliminate gases at the production stage.
You can choose from the most proven combinations.
– LC20 – Pb80Sn20;
– LC20A1 – Pb79Sn20Sb1;
– LC30 – Pb70Sn30;
– LC30A1 – Pb69Sn30Sb1
Their properties are very similar, differing in melting point and hardness. The addition of antimony (2%) further hardens each alloy.
What are the basic principles of tin alloy deposition?
– The surface must be properly prepared – we recommend JS-METALS Soldering Water, which additionally increases the wettability of the solder, removes oxides and other impurities and protects the surface against the formation of new oxides.
– The binder must be kept at the limit of solidification.
– Use of a torch is required.
This product is sold by the kilogram. Actual weight may vary slightly (tolerance ±0.01 kg).
